We are down to only 7 more days and this week has been very different. We have been assisting in closing down cabins and just making lunch and dinners, nothing elaborate just easy stuff. Most everyone is gone from the ranch and of course no guests, so it’s been fun. Next week we will have only about 24 folks to feed and that includes all the staff, so another light and easy week ahead. Then off to new adventures…
Last year at this time we were in the Outer Banks of North Carolina where they just had Earl pass by them. Most of the folks we worked with evacuated, some stayed but all made it through without any harm. The weather here has been cooling off at night, the storms have been strong but in a very tamed way. We are grateful we didn’t have to go through any hurricanes this season, not likely in Colorado, but we have learned, never say never.
All in all, our current season turned out to be pretty darn good, more on our entire experiences once we leave. We always write a review about places we stay, eat, visit, or work but we like doing it after we have left, especially the working review. Good notes throughout our stay is essential, but a “cooling off” period is definitely a requirement. Not that we have anything to cool off about, it is just always a good idea to take it all in once we leave and put it all into perspective before publishing it.
Thank you for all of your comments, they are really deeply appreciated. It has been a rough road at times but the lessons we have learned along our journey and continue to learn has been the best enlightening experience and we are grateful for all the opportunities that have come out of each and every obstacle.

I've certainly enjoyed learning about your working life at the dude ranch. Your blog is one I never miss! I look forward to your reviews. Makes sense to wait a few days to write one. Take care, enjoy your last few days in the high country.
you guys are great role models for others to follow....thanks
Aw shucks...we are just two people who finally came to the conclusion that we are 52 years old, soon to be 53 and we wasted way too much time waiting on others to make us happy.
Now we know only we can do it for ourselves and that life is really short and we are living it to the fullest each and every day from here on out!
