We Should Be Used to this By Now...

These have been a rough few months for us and things just do not seem to be getting any better no matter how hard we try to get them back on track. Several major issues with both vehicles and the cost has deflated our funds that were already low. Most of the band-aids we had to put on them just are not holding, it has been a bit challenging to say the least. We will get this all figured out and it will all work out eventually.

Maggie did get new rear brakes due to them beginning to squeal in Las Vegas. When we went to a repair shop there, even without them taking off the wheels to look at it, they claimed we would need a few thousand dollars for repair. We did not have it, so we put a band-aid on and just hoped it would hold until we got to Yuma and make more money for this repair. We got to Yuma safe without any issues, but it was still squealing so we made an appointment for after the show. We were not concerned since Maggie would be sitting while we worked. We are blessed that we did not allow the shop in Vegas to work on her, once we got to the repair shop in Yuma, we knew we were in safe hands.

310 Auto Works (aka 310 Diesel Works) both located at the same address…3222 S Florence Lane, Yuma, AZ 85365…928-344-3517.

We highly recommend them for all your vehicle repairs, not only did they replace more than Vegas quoted us but it was half the price to do it. Maggie had her rear brakes completely redone on both sides and even with waiting on parts from another city, it was completed in 6 hours. Vegas said they would need to keep her for days. We are grateful we found this business and as stated before, we HIGHLY recommend them for all your vehicle repairs when in the area.

While we waited for the repairs to get completed we decided to take a little drive and wash May but then still had lots of time to spare so we went to the Yuma Main Library. It has been years since either one of us had been to a library but what better place to hang out that was air conditioned, a bathroom, plenty of reading material and FREE! Jerry met a new friend…

We have been expanding our cooking skills and love the new recipes we are creating. It has been great working at Sam’s in the early mornings when they mark down their meat prices, we get great cuts for a lot cheaper. Here are just some of the meals we have made…

While we relax in Earp, we took a drive over the Parker Dam. Something we have been wanting to do for a very long time but was unable to because they do not allow RV’s, trucks or trailers. We understand why now since we went over it and it was tight in our car. The area is so spectacular for views, everywhere you go there is something gorgeous to see, that is why we love this area and continue coming back all the time. The weather is fantastic during the winter and spring months, not so much in the Summer or early Fall but we try to stay out of the area during those hot months.

More relaxation and new recipes to make for the next few days until we head to Bullhead City for our next stint at Sam's, we will be working both companies at this location.

NO PHOTOS – We were in a really bad place in our lives so we moped about a lot during our few days here and didn’t even think about photos.

We paid $33 for a back-in, water, electric, sewer site on gravel which was very tight for many of the other rigs but we fit nicely due to our size, even with our toad but we watched near accidents all day long of many of the big rigs attempting to get into these spaces.

The park felt safe since there was a gate guard at all times but the adjacent neighborhood is so much worse than the last time we were in Vegas. Dirty, grimy and lots of homeless everywhere. This will probably be our last time in Vegas for a long time, too much traffic and really dirty.

2018 UPDATE
Same new wonderful management and our stay was just wonderful!

2016 UPDATE
What a difference great office personnel does for the entire stay. We were greeted with a smile, and apology for not being at the office when we arrived so that we had to radio her to come check us in. Trust us, it was not an inconvenience waiting the few moments for her to make her way to the office. She then asked us...we have NEVER been asked and they have made it perfectly clear to us that as C2C members and not CRA members that we get what we get. We were given a spectacular site across the street in as how we put it, in hotzy totzy area of the park and we LOVED it. It felt as if we were in an entirely different park. It really didn't take much for her to make us feel like a millions dollars and that is all we ever ask for, just some common courtesy.

2015 UPDATE
Not much has changed...unfortunately the people at the main office of Colorado River Adventures are the same nasty people whenever we attempt to change our reservation within that 72 hour period.  They should all take notes from the people who are actually at the parks since they are usually very nice and accommodating.

In December we had a little run in with the lady in the office about our site...she put us in a site right next to another site that was occupied and overlapping onto our site with stuff and vehicles when there were many other sites available. We asked to be moved and she was outright rude but finally Jerry calmly convinced her to move us. As far as customer service at the Colorado River Adventures locations we are NOT happy with it but the price and location is right so we tolerate the incompetence of the individuals who seems are just unhappy with life itself.

We stayed all times using our Coast to Coast for $10 per night without any additional charges for a water, electric, sewer, flat, graveled fairly good size site. Our Verizon MiFi and phones roamed the entire time we were here but we were able to get our computer work completed without too much inconvenience.

This park is very well maintained with security everywhere, quiet, dark and very peaceful which made it great for a good night sleep. The staff and the guests were very friendly with loads of activities for one and all. We attended a few and had a blast, we even hit a few big jackpots at Bingo.

This park is separated into two parts across the road from one another, the east and the west. Both have restrooms, recreation areas and pools that can be used by all guests.

The laundry was on the main road and was actually used for the general public and only had 6 washers and 6 dryers which made it really inconvenient for us having to wait for availability. We remembered this from our first visit and did not plan to do any laundry on this visit.

If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it but you have to be a member of Coast to Coast or CRA.
