We Did & We Would Again!

It was 25 years ago that we started our life together as husband and wife. Even back then we knew we had something special but could never have imagined just how blessed we were to have found one another.

We had both gone through some tough relationships, Jerry had a marriage that was quite toxic and ended in a messy divorce and even though I had never been married, there were plenty of volatile relationships that continued to let us both down. But, we never gave up hope that someday we would find the one.

We were friends for a few years before we decided to take our relationship down a different road, and from that first date in June 1996 we have been inseparable. We were both about to turn 40 so we knew we were meant to spend the rest of our lives together so within 6 months we married.

Through the years there have been some rough times, some lean times and some downright ugly times but we knew that our love would endure it all and it has and became even stronger. On the other side of it we had some absolutely amazing times with so much richness and beauty and some of the deepest love either of us has ever felt. Our friendship continues to get us through and our passionate love keeps us strong.

Being married to your best friend is the best thing ever. Knowing that we always have one another’s backs and nothing or nobody could ever take that away. Always looking out for one another’s best interests as well as our own.

Let’s not forget the laughter, not just at each other but also laughing at ourselves and not taking everything so seriously. Being vulnerable with one another, knowing we have each other’s hearts in our hands and never crushing it.

I’m not sure if this is the best recipe for a great marriage, all I do know is it works for us. We both woke up this morning smiling at one another and celebrating our 25 years together, listening to our wedding song and seeing the love in each other’s eyes that is even stronger than it was then, knowing that the love will continue to get stronger every moment.

Welcome 2022

We started the New Year in Casa Grande at the Fiesta Grande where we have stayed many times since it’s one of our Thousand Trails membership parks. The weather was chilly, and even a few nights were downright cold. We were only able to enjoy our patio fire pit a few nights because it’s been too cold and wet to sit outside once the sun goes down.

We moved down the road to Yuma to stay a few weeks at one of our Coast to Coast membership parks. Love this area and the weather has been fantastic!

We are trying to find our new motorhome before we start our first event in Quartzsite but how many times can we get turned down for RV Loans before we just quit…what we want and what we can afford is such a huge difference right now and it hurts. We have established great credit these past few years, but our living status is hurting our chances. So many particulars they insist on, it seems each lender has another hurdle or hoop for us to jump through…it’s getting annoying. We have been meditating (praying) on it all and we’re just in a weird place right now mentally, doing all we can to get out of it before things really go sour! Keeping stress out of our lives is very important too and such a difficult thing to accomplish right now.

We are already having issues with the new tow vehicle and we are not confident in its ability to make it to our destinations. We bought it from a private owner so there is no recourse so we are trying to just breathe and get it all figured out.

We’re not doing anything special but relaxing and once again cooking every day, but forgetting to take photos to share, we have made some scrumptious dishes using our new spices on steak, chicken, pork, vegetables and we made a quick meal with ground beef and box potatoes, easy peasy and it tasted yummy…

We went to Bingo and even though I bingo’d, after sharing it with others, it was only $6…not much of a win but we enjoy it.

2018 UPDATE - They are no longer taking Coast to Coast Membership but they are now taking Thousand Trails.

2016 UPDATE - We paid $21.05 for the same site as last year using our Coast to Coast Membership, only this year we took a walk and took pictures.

We paid $19.87 using our Coast to Coast Membership, resort fees and taxes per night for a level pull through site on gravel with water, electric and sewer that included cable.

This is your typical Encore RV Resort with all the amenities and plenty of activities. There are many permanent sites that are very well maintained and they do not have that discriminating 10 year older policy but there were not any eyesores throughout the over 700 sites either, so they are doing something right.

We would highly recommend this resort and if we plan to stay in Casa Grande again we would definitely try to get in here with our membership.
