Where We Landed

Our travels were just under 500 miles and did not want to hookup every night so we chose to stay in hotels. Our first night we did just over 220 miles to Tioga Downs Casino Resort. We had some playtime and left with more money then we came with which is always nice.

The room was spacious, hospitality was outstanding, the bed was comfy and the shower stall & shower head were amazing. We had a view of the track but the horses weren’t running that day but in the foggy morning the horses were on track exercising.

Our next day of travel was just under 200 miles, 187 miles that took us much longer than we expected. We do love taking the roads less traveled but these were a bit much. We thought it was a two lane highway for the most part but instead it was a one lane winding road for most of the drive with no way to deviate from the course. We got through it and made notes not to travel those roads again.

We stayed at Wingate by Wyndham in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The room was spacious with a sofa, extremely clean, a very comfortable bed, an ok shower with little room in the bathroom. The pool was refreshing, the hot tub was hot but unfortunately it was not making any bubbles. The entire reason we pay a bit more that we asked in advanced about, and we were told it was working.

We ate some excellent pizza & wings at Vito’s Pizza.

Our final travel day was all Turnpike and several tunnels with a Walmart stop just 10 miles from our destination to pick up needed supplies since we are coming in the door running.

We landed in Somerset, Pennsylvania at Pioneer Lakes RV Park for the next few months. I am at the front desk and Jerry is doing it all, café, guard shack and anywhere he is needed. We already feel more welcomed here than we did the entire time in Lake George. We are acknowledged that we know what to do and are very good at it, and we are so appreciated. There are a few red flags already but we will do our best to keep our spirits high and strong.

Life is good when you do what is needed to make it great, instead of sitting around whining about it all.
