BOA Week Three

We are finally getting our bodies ready for exploring new adventures and it began by going to our happy place…one of the Great Lakes, Lake Erie.

We headed north to Port Clinton, Ohio where we had a room facing the lake, but no patio and could not even open the window. Otherwise the room had all the conveniences, microwave, fridge, comfortable bed, a huge walk-in shower and great customer service.

We spent most of our time enjoying the lake from the outside area behind the hotel and it was perfect.

We had to get our Lake Perch fix, so we went to our favorite spot right on the water, Dock's Beach House Restaurant, where we had a wrap and a sandwich and the best Seasoned Fries we have ever had, crispy and crunchy on the outside, but soft potatoey on the inside. The Lake Perch on both sandwiches were light, flaky and moist enough so the flavor was scrumptious.

Two wonderful days to spend in Bay City, Michigan at the Courtyard. Good parking, nice hotel with great customer service, our King size bed was comfortable, having a couch was great and the walk-in shower was fantabulous.

While there we took a few short drives, checked out the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino in Standish and hit a few jackpots, no big win but no loses either, we just had some fun.

We also got a few of my Michigan fixes while we were there, including our favorite wine, Jerry’s now favorite chips, and my all time favorite pop, Faygo Rock n Rye. I so wanted to pick up one of our other favorites, ring bologna but unfortunately we are still weeks away from getting back from this adventure so it would not keep and we have no place to store it.

Tried a local pizza from G’s Pizzeria and it was the cheesiest pizza we’ve had in a very long time, the wings were good, but the pizza was ooey gooey delicious.

Our event, well let’s just say things are not going well with finding enough helpers and it’s taking a toll, not only physically on our bodies, but on our mental health as well. We were in Toledo, at a venue we have done many times and it’s busy. Jerry and I had to set most of it up ourselves and then we had to work the registers and floor with little help…it’s getting old fast.

Our hotel choice this time around was LaQuinta in Perrysburg, Ohio. Nice and roomy with a comfortable bed but the worse shower, it’s the kind where the shower curtain attaches to your body all during your shower…ugh! Customer service was sensational.

So now some much needed rest while we travel to our next event location.
