Single Digits

Not temperature, but days until we are on the road again…

We honestly did not think we would make it through this gig, but we stuck it out and learned a lot about ourselves. We learned that most of our lives we settled and always took abuse from others because it felt normal to us. Well, we now know it is not normal and we do not deserve to be treated as badly as we have been treated again this season.

We deserve to have the best that life has to offer, even though that little soft voice within ourselves says differently, we know that we deserve the wonderfulness that life has waiting for us once we claim it and believe it.

We stood up for ourselves and spoke with him, but as usual, it did nothing. He actually tried to turn it all around and make it as if it were our fault. He actually told me that I had a side which he referred to as Bad Kimberly that did not like to be told what to do. After trying to defend myself, I finally gave up, realizing that he was not going to get it and I refused to waste my time trying to make him understand that his so called opinion of me did not matter. We have the experience of managing his lot without all the supervision he felt he had to give to us, but he has this idea that we can’t, even after working for him for 4 years. No amount of explaining would make him understand, so we just let it go and will finish off this season, but will not return. We deserve a much better environment for the holidays.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be our traveling days…we will head southeast for some rest, relaxation, play and figure out what we will do next. We have some drying out to do, both the rig and our bodies…we have some remodeling and repair to do…again both the rig and our bodies. The one thing we know for sure is that we will be living our lives from an entirely different perspective. Life’s lessons are not always fun to go through, but in the end they are what assists us in continuing onto the next phase of our lives and we look forward to every moment.

In the past few months, we have tried several different types and brands of wine and will share all of our reviews once we get in vacation mode. We wish everyone in our lives the best holiday season...travel safe and make the best memories ever.

All the best learning experiences seem to be the ones that are the hardest to get through. But yours is almost over and you have grown and learned. That's a great thing. Now for that vacation time and relaxin'.

I admire your "stick-to-it" attitude despite all the grief and aggravation you've had.

Enjoy that long awaited Christmas break.

Boy, do I understand how you feel. We've done some jobs where, no matter what, the people in charge seemed to never appreciate what we did. One time, we had stacks of letters (people had actually bothered to sit and write us kind comments) but it didn't matter, the place was going to be run the way the people in charge wanted it. They offered us a return job, but, like you, we decided that life is too short.

Pay attention to those gut feelings, they're usually right on.

Enjoy your upcoming vacation, and if you get down this way, give a holler.

I'm glad this is behind you!! Now the better days will begin. I can hardly wait to read your wine review. Now that's a job many folks would really like.

That's the kind of life most people are wrapped up in. Always wondering what other people think of us and always trying like crazy to fit the social norms set up for us and by us over decades of living other people expectations. Your life style, although different from most peoples', will never feel GREAT unless you jump you own shadows.
Have a Merry Christmas

I think of those type of unpleasant experiences as the 'rumble strip' on the road of my life. They are the little annoying noises that happen when I get to far off the correct road for me.
Keep movin' it makes ya a harder target. (grin)

So sorry you have had a rough time this last month...and that the guy you have worked with for four years now does not see the great workers and people you are. Travel safe and we too are looking forward to hearing about your wine reviews.

Hi! We are Jerry and Susan Weaver from Sherwood, Oregon. We retired in November of this year ( after knee replacement surgery on Jerry's left knee) and hit the road with our two dogs. We are currently in Queen Creek, Az and about to go to some friends house in Tempe to spend Christmas day.
You have a great website and we are enjoying your posts. I am truly sorry about your experience with your last employment. The world has some naturally negative people and nothing we can do will change their hearts. I just smile at them and wish them well. I do not let negative people affect my outlook-- Life is too short to worry about them! Our blog is www.ourwayisthehighway.com and we would appreciate your comments about it, if you have the time. We are new at full timing and have a lot to learn. Bless you and keep up the good work!
