Once We Let Go…Things Go Splendidly

We have been up in the air about what the heck we were going to do next. We knew we didn’t want to stop, as we had in the past 4 years and get off the NASCAR tour but we were at a very desperate stage. There were no track jobs lined up for April except for a few days with less than 8 hours per day at minimum wage at Talladega. It was going to cost us much more than that in gas and other expenses to get there and then get back to Richmond or Darlington, whichever we could or would find work. We were confused, discouraged because even with the help of a Director at NASCAR, we were not any further than we had been in the past. The confirmations we were getting were nice but it was not helping our immediate situation, no work lined up and our gas fund was low.

There was a big difference this time, life was not going to get us down and we were not going to give up on our dream, so we moved forward.

There were moments when we went forward only to take a few steps back but we never gave up and we never went deep into that black hole of despair that we usually find ourselves in. This time we had an idea and went with it and if it didn’t feel right after all, we stopped and did something else until finally we came across the right situation at the perfect opportune moment and without having to give up our dream.

We are working in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for the month of April and for those who have never been here, please put it on your list and do it. Sleeping with the sounds of the Atlantic Ocean, feeling the brisk winds and the cool air for this time of the season has been an added bonus for us. We will be sharing all about it in the upcoming weeks and then in the beginning of May we will return to the NASCAR circuit.

We've been in the mindset you were in this past year too. We had to step back when we began to panic and realize we were so much better off than we were before we moved into our motor home almost five years ago.

I even found that for the first time in my life I was enjoying the raw beauty of the desert.
But I want to go where you are!
