Why Did We Come East?

This is day 4 in Myrtle Beach and all we have seen is the inside of our motorhome and of course the laundry room where we have had to dry items in our home that is getting wet from all of our leaks.

The rain finally let up late yesterday but it was frigid out so since the forecast was for warmer and clearer for today we got excited thought we would get out and take a ride.  Around 5am this morning I heard the familiar noise on the roof and it continued until after 7am.

Are they frigging kidding?

We don’t do snow…we don’t do days and days of rain…we don’t like storms…so why on earth are we back east?  Oh yeah, to check off things on our Life List.  I told Jerry that we need to do them all this spring, summer and winter since it may be a very long time that we venture in this direction again.

The guilt was overwhelming for us staying in the west for the past two years but now after this long extensive adventure east we may rethink that guilt and just head west and hang out there for a few more years after we finish what we started here.

Doing our best to follow our path in life, the one that feels right, the one we can feel in the pit of our stomachs and we felt all those good vibes from the start of this plan but then something went terribly wrong and we are not sure how to get back on our right path again.

Follow your dream they say, let go of all the inhibitions and go with the flow, it’s supposed to lead you to the right places where great things begin to happen.  Well for over 10 years now we have worked hard towards that goal and we have struggled most of the way but we continue to persevere but we are getting tired and wonder if we will ever know how it is to live that good life we have so wanted for so long now.

What would it be like to be able to find consistent work where we are traveling, pays well and it not tearing our bodies apart that we enjoy and are having fun doing it?  What it would be like to travel with money in the bank?   Others do it all the time so why not us?  We apply for those jobs ALL the time but never get hired…why?  Then we hear from others that they got the job that we had also applied for and are having the times of their lives, making money and traveling…Really?  The jobs we get are the ones that require us to stay in one place and are physically demanding and those people want us to return year after year and that is just not what we want to do with our lives.  Our bodies are telling us that we have done enough damage to them they need some rest but our bank account tells us that we need to continue to work.  Well we are just as good with our other skills and work ethics to do the less physical jobs but we need to be given the chance and so far that is not happening…why?

So many questions and no answers…this happens all the time when we get cabin fever…it makes us go deep inside and think too much.  Rain, rain please go away and allow the sun to once again shine so that we too can begin to shine again and get out of this deep black wet hole we have sunk into.

Can't answer your questions but I certainly understand cabin fever. We get that when the weather doesn't shine on us either. Chin up the summer is coming.

I have just started following your blog. We just started full time RVing and will be working some while we travel and I appreciate your honesty about the different situations on your blog. I hope the rain stops and the sunshine comes out for you. Best wishes going forward.

Never once got cabin fever in the west. We're in Charleston...rain, rain, rain. Only this is a week's vacation.
