Using our Passport America 50% club we paid $12.50 for an electric, water, sewer, flat, gravel site with a picnic table.  PA is only valid for one night and has loads of restrictions but we made it right after the fair so we got lucky.  There are no frills, no pool or clubhouse but for a stopover it is just right and the price is terrific.  No WiFi or cable available but we used our MiFi and phone reception was excellent.

The host was a fellow carnie so we talked awhile about our experiences since we just left the fair and this fair just ended.  He was helpful with local things to do and places to go but we didn’t leave our rig once we hooked up.

Absolutely no full time campers are allowed and they firmly adhere to the limitations to how long you can stay.

The restrooms and laundry facilities needed some cleaning but that was just because the fair just ended and vendors are still leaving the area so we have taken that into consideration.  The dirtiness was just paper and stuff on the floor, nothing a bottle of cleaner would not completely make it all sparkle.

For an overnight stay, we would highly recommend it and we would stay again, the price is right either with our 50% Passport America, Happy Camper, and even using our Good Sam 10% discount, the price would be right.

I enjoy reading your campground reviews. I have wondered about the Sonoma Fairgrounds--looks like a good place to stay!

We agree in that we have found that Passport America can be very restrictive. Many parks only allow a short stay or off-season. Mostly it doesn't work for us but we have found bought it and used it at a few parks where they allow longer periods. Not worth it in most cases to use for a one night stay.
