On Media Night we served a few of our newly added menu items
that were a wild success. Anything
wrapped in bacon is perfect anyway but these combinations are just delicious.
Wild Boar Bacon Kabobs - What a huge hit and a perfect addition
to this year’s menu. Peppers, Onions, Pineapples are skewed along with Wild
Boar Bacon that is marinated in a wonderfully tangy sauce; additional seasons are
then added and then grilled to perfection.
The sweetness of the pineapple and the tanginess of the sauce with the
lean flavoring of the boar bacon is a great mixture of flavor that awakens all
your flavor buds simultaneously.
Cheesy Bacon Bombs – Pepper Jack Cheese chunks wrapped with
biscuit dough then slices of bacon surrounds it all, then deep fried and
drizzled with garlic butter. Your mouth
waters just speaking about them but when you bite into it, the zesty cheese
along with the garlic butter just melts in your mouth and leaves you wanting
more.
Bacon Beer – You heard right, a Root Beer with a Bacon twist. A little dab of special syrup and root beer poured
over ice with pieces of bacon included is a novelty drink and there were very
mixed opinions of whether it was loved or not.
For me it was one of those things to try but to drink over and over, I
would not but Jerry loved it and would drink it regularly.
Most of our old favorites are still on the menu and will be
served this year too. We will still have
our huge Turkey Leg wrapped with about a pound of Bacon and smoked for hours. The Portabella Button Mushrooms stuffed with Gouda
Cheese, wrapped with Bacon and grilled to absolute perfection. And, of course the all-time favorite of so
many, pieces of well cooked Bacon, dipped in Chocolate and chilled for an
absolutely marvelous sweet/salty tasting Chocolate Covered Bacon.
We hope to have some time to do some writing but it might be tough when we are working 12+ hour days, six days a week, but we will try to keep you all updated.

I had a heart attack just reading this:)lol have fun!!!!
Do you get sick of bacon by the time you finish your time at the fair? :)
We do since from here we do the fair in Orange County too. We were very surprised last year how soon we got over it and began eating bacon again...but just never in the quantity as we do in the next few months at these fairs.
That is why on our only day off during the fair we eat salads or anything but bacon or fried.
Not sure about the bacon root beer, but the chocolate covered bacon and the mushrooms and gouda wrapped with Bacon sound wonderful. I'll have to check that out at the Orange County fair if I'm there this summer.
That food will definitely put a few pounds on:)
12 hours a day, six days a week? Slackers! ;c)
How long will it take to get the bacon smell out of your skin after you finish this job? :cD
The bigger question is: Will you ever eat bacon again?
Wow, finding temporary work situations would be a wonderful way to make some extra money on the road. However, I'd have to skip the ones with six day/twelve hour stints...
Sounds like you had your work cut out for you. I don't think I'd be able to ever look at bacon again lol
