As long as we stay out of the family dynamics, we are having a great time, otherwise it’s a bit rough, but our time off is spectacular.
It was tough but we didn’t go anywhere this weekend…we had honey do’s that needed to be done, and that is exactly what we did. The dust and yellow pollen here is so much worse than the desert, dust everything clean in the morning and by afternoon it’s layered thick again.
On our 3 day weekend, we headed to another part of Yellowstone we hadn’t seen…First stop was Gibbons Falls where the views were gorgeous…
Then through the Roaring Mountain and so much more…
We then drove to Livingston, Montana and then onto I90 to Butte, Montana where the views were great, but being on the interstate especially with speed limit of 80 is just not how we love to travel.
In Butte, we stayed at LaQuinta where our room was cramped, but the king bed was so comfortable, and the TV was huge. We soaked in the hot tub, but missed not having a pool to cool off. We arrived early for checkin and they were gracious enough to get us into our room even though like everywhere else they are under staffed, which is an entirely different issue and not their fault.
We stopped at Joe’s Pasty’s but unfortunately they were not as good as we’ve had or not even close to how mom used to make them…no carrots or rutabaga and the crust was not as flaky or tasty as others we’ve had…
We took a different route home as we love to see it all, but we also wanted to stop in Ennis, Montana at Deemo’s Meats for some of their famous Maple and Pepper Bacon for BLT Sandwiches…YUMMY!
We just can’t take a bad photo…this area is so picturesque.
