Our first 3 day weekend was excellent where we spotted elk, deer, geese, a brown bear and the views got even more spectacular than we anticipated. The journey began with a gorgeous early morning drive through Yellowstone to Coulter Bay in the Grand Tetons. Traffic was not so bad since we got an extra early start and every twist or turn gave us another ahhhh moment.
We then turned to Riverton, Wyoming where we climbed to snow, the last sign we seen we were at elevation 9845’ with absolutely more outstanding views.
We stayed in Riverton, Wyoming at the Wind River Casino & Hotel in a magnificent suite…it had it all…a fantastic shower, roominess with a kitchen and a very comfortable bed. Had a little casino fun, machine’s weren’t playing along very well so we made it an early night. Unfortunately, we were starving and the restaurants were closed, so we snacked on the “Free” snacks in the suite.
The drive to Cody for our shopping was nice except when we almost hit some deer…thank goodness we were alert and our deer whistles did what they needed to do.
Leaving Cody was breathtaking…and the tunnels were a surprise. One was so long we never thought we would get through it, but we did.
The entire trip home was spectacular…
Our next week was spent at home to do a thorough cleaning, the dust here is worse than the desert, plus we got disorganized which made us both crazy. So now we’re clean and organized once again and ready for another adventurous weekend ahead.
