It’s not summer here, it’s winter still, but if the weather stays true, then we might be having a great weather week…FINALLY…but how do believe something that changes drastically daily? Due to the forecasted snow on our days off we opted to postpone our trip to the Tetons once again. We requested taking off Fridays and extending our time off but instead they counter offered with every other Friday off which we were happy to accept and begins next week.
We stayed at Hampton Inn in Rexburg, hoping to get more spa time, but instead just had pool time since there was a misprint of their amenities and they do not have a spa. We also got attitude when we tried to get an early check in and he immediately said they were booked the night before and didn’t have anything ready at 1:30pm except the 1st floor and he could see that was printed on our reservation that we did not want 1st floor…imagine his surprise when we said we would take the 1st floor. It’s just annoying when certain clerks think that it’s good customer service to immediately grab an attitude because we want an early checkin and not even check if anything might be ready. Otherwise we really loved the room with everything we needed, a comfortable bed, great shower, roomy with comfortable furniture. Even though we will be staying more nights in Rexburg while we are working in West Yellowstone, we will stay next door at Springhill going forward where they have wonderful customer service.
We tried a new eatery for us at the Arctic Circle for the drive home, Jerry had Crispy Chicken Sandwiches with hot and fresh Fries, I had Chicken Rings and Onion Rings. It was all so tasty. The coatings were light and airy with the right amount of seasoning that the excellent Fry Sauce really wasn’t needed. Looks as if this fast-food chains are only located in Idaho and Utah.
We took a side trip to Mesa Falls and it did not disappoint…the scenery was awesome to the Upper Falls and the Lower Falls were spectacular as well.
Our work week seemed longer than usual and we are both tired but looking forward to a 3 day weekend this week for us with extra special plans to new places.
