Our Work Experience at Snake River Cabins & RV Village

We began on July 4, 2021 through August 15, 2021.

Work was typical…me on the inside making reservations for cabins, tents, RV sites and raft trips, checking folks in, selling groceries and souvenirs and taking care of rafters prior to the buses picking them up. Jerry was outside, mostly escorting tenters and RVs to their sites, cleaning sites and fire pits on their departures and any other things needed to take care of the guests.

Just after a few weeks, the smoke from out west fires and the dust from the construction right out front was way overboard, everything was filthy and my breathing took a hard hit. Once we finally got rain, it began to clear things up but it only lasted a few days.

Our biggest issue was allowing all breeds of dogs and with Jerry outside all the time, I was concerned because the first week a Mastiff lunged at him and that same dog bit another dog and a woman and the sheriff was called. Not a safe environment for anyone.

Another big concern was having everyone on the same page. It  is important because one worker tells guests one thing and others tell them totally different and it causes so much confusion. It was hard for me to brush this one off because of all the chaos it caused so I began expressing my concerns to the manager and she was grateful for our input.

Once one of the couples left it was amazing how everyone then began working together as a “Dream Team”. What a shame we had to leave earlier than planned, but they understood and was accommodating to us. We met some great people that we plan to keep in touch with in our future travels.

If you like busy, then this is the place to be and if the same managers return next year as planned, we believe they will have worked out all the kinks and it will be a great adventure. We won’t be returning, only because we have seen all we wanted in the area and there is so much more for us to see elsewhere.
