2018 Update - We had a back in on concrete with a patio, electric, water and sewer with free cable and WiFi. This place is still kept up very nicely, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We would highly recommend it and will stay here if we are ever in the area again.



This is more of a resort than a park and since we have passed it by several times on our travels, we chose to give it try this time and we were very glad we did. Conveniently located right off the CA-58 highway, it has many amenities to offer. They do not accept any discounts at any time, we paid $32 for a back-in site, the pull thru was a bit more.



They have excellent, clean restroom & shower houses.



The pool & spa were very inviting but it was freezing so we did not partake in them.

May of 2016 we enjoyed the pools since it reached 90 degrees...hot tub had great jets and not too hot and the pool was cool. We were alone and it was just what we needed to soothe these aching bones.



We will definitely return and recommend this place to anyone even though the price is over our $30 per night budget, it is not that expensive taking into consideration California prices.

2018 UPDATE: They take NO discounts any longer so it is pricey and then we arrived at 12:15pm and they WOULD NOT allow us to get escorted to our site until after 1pm...ridiculous. Our site was available, we could see it open and we told the girl at the desk this but she said, "We must wait for the escort at 1pm since that is check in time." We sat there and just heated up because it was 85 degrees in the sun. WE WILL NOT BE REVISITING AGAIN, DUE TO HIGHER PRICES...NO DISCOUNTS...AND WORST OF ALL THE CHECK IN POLICY!

In February of 2016 we finally took a few photos since this was the location we stayed while on our days off at FOY and we took a walk in the evening to the spa and enjoy some great conversation with other guests.

It is no longer a Coast to Coast or Western Horizon Resort and all sites are full hook ups.

In December we paid $27.00 using our Passport America 50% discount membership for a water, electric, sewer pull through level site on gravel.

In January & February we paid $47.01 using our Good Sam 10% discount for a water, electric, sewer back in level site on gravel.  The sites are a good size and have an additional slab for your tow vehicle but we used it for our chairs for sitting outside.

Not sure how recent the sewers in this area were added but the stench was intolerable in December.  We could not sit outside and we even had to close our windows for most of the time we were there. In January and February the smell was non existing.

They still do not offer cable but they do offer free WiFi that we did not use since our Verizon worked perfectly.

If we are ever in the area we would stay here and we would recommend it for an overnight or longer visit.

Written 1/27/2010 - This is a membership park, we stayed with our Coast to Coast (C2C) membership for $10 per night. Upon checking in, we were informed that we would be in a water and electric site only, with a dump station nearby. This was not conveyed to us when we made the reservation, via the C2C online website. Apparently, only Western Horizon Resorts (WHR) members stay in the full hookups close to the pools, spas, and clubhouse area. Normally we would not be concerned since we were only staying for a few days, but we had just come off of a two week stay in the desert boondocking and really wanted to take long showers and give the rig a thorough cleaning. Many of our C2C choices have stipulations that are becoming annoying.

The park was clean and very well maintained. The sites were a good size with a slab that only fit your RV, no patio, just rocks where you set out your chairs. The views of the snow covered mountains were spectacular. Cable was not available, but for an additional cost they did offer WiFi.

2018 UPDATE: We came to do some soaking and visiting with friends and prices went up but it was worth it for the soakings, we will be leaving years younger after soaking every day while we are here.

We paid $39.60 per night using our Good Sam 10% discount for a water, electric, sewer, on a level gravel site with a patio pad that includes free cable and pretty decent WiFi.  Our cell phone service was doable but not at its absolute best. 

The sites are fairly wide so we didn’t feel like we were on top of our neighbors which was really nice.  Since most are back in sites, even our neighbors behind us didn’t seem to be close due to the way the sites are layered.

It is in the middle of nowhere but is like a community in itself that has just about everything you need and everything is kept up the best we have ever seen.  Even though the season was coming to an end there were still many people still there and everywhere was clean and kept up.  It was amazing!

We ate lunch at the Café and the sandwiches were fresh and very tasty and the fries were fabulous, they have dinner specials but that was winding down since the season was coming to an end.  The service was excellent and we noticed all the workers were very happy and many of them return year after year.

The pools were mineral hot springs that eased the pain in our bodies and we took full advantage of them for the few days we were there.

They have all sorts of activities, both scheduled and others you can do on your own time so you never have to be bored.

They have great facilities that are kept so clean, the laundry rooms and restrooms are immaculate. 

The landscaping is perfect.

We are so impressed with this place that we submitted our resume for work next winter and we highly recommend if you are ever in the area to stop by and stay awhile at this absolutely wonderful resort, we definitely plan to return.

Our First Real Blog for 2018

Writing is just not what it used to be and I’m not exactly sure why that is. It could be because we are in a rut and keep going back to the same areas with nothing new to write about or it might be because it has always been that one thing I have always wanted to happen in our lives that just never quite made the turn. For whatever reason it is I am not going to whine about it, it is what it is and I will write when and if I choose.

Life has turned that way for us at this point, we are both a little cranky since once again we had high hopes of making things work out this year and once again our dreams and plans have fizzled. But, as usual there is always Plan B or C or D or even Z if necessary and as usual we will get through it.

We have decided not to panic and to just enjoy this moment, after all it is all we have but we are ready to make some drastic changes so that we do not put ourselves into this rut again next year but for now we just do what we can today.

We have been working Lt Blender 11 day shows at Sam’s for the past few months with 10 days off in between but it’s just not enough financially so as of this week we are picking up Chef Shamy to work at Sam’s and see how that goes. We are setting up both shows at Sam’s during the same time so that we can have twice the pay and we hope that might work out for us.

Alaska has been taken off our plans since we do not feel we can make it there and back without a whole lot more cash then what we currently are receiving and now that they shut down all those Sam’s in the area we had planned to travel we just cannot see it working out so that has gone on the back burner.

We have lined up work in Palm Desert and then Bakersfield thus far, we do not want to commit to much more until we decide whether working these 2 shows simultaneously will pay out or not. If so then we will begin booking more and possibly head towards Montana but if not we will have to possibly once again settle in somewhere for a short time. Not sure how its all going to play out, we now just learn to enjoy today and let tomorrow play out naturally. So very hard for us to do since we like to control our destiny but so far that has not worked nor has it got us to where we want to be so we are attempting this year to allow our lives to play out without our forcing any issues and we just sort of go for the ride.

2018 Update - Major renovations but also they are no longer technically Coast to Coast members, they now belong to the new program through C2C as GNP (Good Neighbor Parks) that now do not use our C2C points and cannot be reserved online anymore. You have to call them and they give you a discount price, we paid a little over $25 per night.

2016 Update - The resort is now a non-member park but still accepts our Coast to Coast membership, now charging $15 per night with NO additional charges. In November 2013 the Manthei family purchased the park, they own Sky Valley and Caliente Springs in the Desert Hot Springs area.  There does not seem to be many changes, still maintained well kept with lots of activities going on.  The staff is priceless and we would still highly recommend it and we would stay here again if we are ever in the area.

They now have a new restaurant, the River Shack located in the clubhouse where we had the Blue Moon Burger that was awesome and the fries were fabulous. They make everything by scratch and it shows in the great taste.

Our first visit in 2008 was a complimentary 4 night stay with a 90-minute tour scheduled during our stay. This is part of the WHR private membership and we are now able to utilize our Coast to Coast membership for our stays.


In 2012 we paid $10 per night with no additional 50amp or cable charges for a water, electric, sewer, flat, gravel, back in site with a concrete pad patio. The sites were a good size for us. On our first visit we had our Jeep which took some manipulating to make it all fit. We noticed many other toad vehicles parked on empty sites which could cause complications of incoming guests.


Our Verizon phones and MiFi worked great here.

Very well maintained park right on the Colorado River which on this visit did not have much activity on it, during our visit in 2008 it was noisy all day with constant watercraft noise.

The pool and spa was fabulous, clean and the perfect temperature.


Doing laundry was nice because they had a lounge area with puzzles and a television. The only issue was there were several out of order machines which made our chore more time consuming.


They had lots of activities which we did partake in a few and had a blast. This is one of those parks where there is a lot of participation in the activities and we can see why. We attended Bingo and Karaoke and fun was had by one and all.


If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here as long as they continue honoring Coast to Coast.

2016 UPDATE - Not much has changed, price was the same except Passport America rate was only good for one night, otherwise the place looks the same, well maintained.

In December, January and February, Passport America is not honored, we paid $53 for our site.

We paid $23.49 using our Passport America 50% membership for water, electric, sewer, fairly level site on a slab with a picnic table on gravel.  The sites seemed long enough but not too wide.  We had great reception for our phones and MiFi and they offered free cable TV.

The landscaping was well manicured and other areas were clean and well maintained.  The views of Lake Havasu were spectacular.

If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here.
