It certainly is scary but together we will get through it all, unfortunately without Maggie…It was a sad day…She gave us a great ride for so many years but she got tired and we had no other choice but to donate her to somebody who hopefully will be able to fix all the things we just didn’t. So now we are pushing forward and find a new style of living, not sure what it is right now but we will figure it out.
To do our next event we had to get a UHaul Van and a hotel room and we had to go from the most north to the most south of our events which made it all very costly but we had a great show and made a little bit of money. Would have been a lot more if we just didn’t have those added expenses, but as usual we do what we have to do.
Our first stop was at Harrahs in Maricopa…the deals we get for casino stays and through our Gold status with Hotels.com are fantastic. The shower was wonderful and the bed was so comfortable.
We stayed at the Best Western Sonora Inn & Suites in Nogales, Arizona. They had huge rooms with all the necessities, fridge, microwave, and a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was fantastic with a daily variety for our 6 day stay. Customer service was amazing, they all stepped up and were very accommodating, especially Alexis who always had a smile on her face and a yes attitude.
Paying hotel rooms for the next few months was going to be outrageously expensive so we looked at other options since right now it is not a buyers market for our new RV. Finally…we found a Park Model in a central location for the rest of February, so for most of our weekend work we won’t need a hotel room. There are only a few weekends that are over a hundred miles where we will need to do that, so we have cut our expenses more than half…woot woot! Unfortunately, it’s not available for the month of March so we are actively looking for a Park Model for March, April and part of May. March is the tough part, otherwise everything is available beginning in April.
We emptied Maggie and all that stuff is in storage in Tucson which meant another one way UHaul trip.
Since it took most of the day to unload Maggie, we only drove a few hours to Yuma and stayed at Cocopah Resort. We were upgraded to a King Suite with all the amenities and HUGE TV screens. We had a patio, walk-in shower, a jetted tub, a very comfortable bed and a 2nd bathroom. It was just what the doctor ordered.
These are all phase fixes until we finally get to our final goal…a truck tow vehicle and a Class A motorhome or a truck that can tow a trailer for now. One moment at a time…it’s all we can do right now. We continue to look at the greatness in our lives instead of dwelling on the bumps. We have to keep one another smiling and laughing and just enjoying the little things.
