Santa Rosa, California - Sonoma County Fair

We are still staying at hotels since our motorhome is still in Barstow getting repaired.

This fair is small and not a drinking fest as most in California are, lot of daytime activity that kept us busy, just the way we like it. Again long days but we had fun.

They had Taste Tuesday, and for the same amount we would spend on two meals on other days, we tasted lots of different items for much less. We brought our own food all other days, or we would not have made any money if we didn’t.

There were great people, both customers and other workers and management…the only issue we had was at load when our semi driver went off…screaming so loudly at me. Using such vulgarity, the F Bomb, along with calling me a bitch, fat ass, and also the C word over and over. So loudly that several vendors approached me and asked who he was and if they needed to contact security. When he heard that he began to scream more vulgarity about the F Bombing security and he would give them a mouthful too, so bring them on. It was the worse sort of drama that we had encountered in a very long time. Jerry and I just continued moving equipment to the semi without saying a word, just trying to get the semi loaded.

He eventually explained to Jerry that when he met me many years ago at the Indiana State Fair for all of about 5 minutes, he didn’t like my attitude and the dude hung on to this meaningless grudge all these years. What was worse and shocked us both was when we let our boss know about the incident that she chose to ignore it all and said there is always two sides to all stories and since she was not there that she would not get involved. Well that put such a sour taste in our mouths and we did not want to have to work with him ever again, so we chose to move onward elsewhere. There is NEVER a time where anybody deserves to be treated or spoken to like that, and if we continued working for someone who would allow that, then that would take away such a big piece of who we are, neither of us ever deserve any of that treatment from anyone.

What a shame because we really enjoyed working for them for over 10 years, but not when they allow that sort of total harassment without even getting involved.
