7/25/2015 for Lunch
Our Rainbow Tour shuttle
driver had recommended Foster’s Family Steak House but we were actually
planning to ride our bikes a little further to another restaurant but the
so-called bike trail was awful, all gravel, bumpy and the roughest ride we have
had in a very long time so we stopped at Foster’s Family Steak House.
It’s connected to a hotel
with a Market and Bakery located right next to it.
Inside, the atmosphere reminded
us of a small town restaurant with a very friendly environment.
Jerry had the Bryce Canyon
Burger that was cheesy, tender and very juicy and the fries were hot and
crispy and the pickle was crisp, crunchy with a hint of garlic.
I had the Reuben that was
juicy and succulent even though the meat itself was not fresh corned beef but
instead was one of those frozen pucks that was completely cooked but was not
broken up which at first was a little concerning but ended up being good. The
kraut was refreshing and the sauce they put on it was amazing.
Then we shared an absolutely
delicious homemade Foster’s Berry Pie, made with Strawberries, Rhubarb,
Raspberries and Blackberries. We topped ours with vanilla ice cream and just a
touch of whipped cream and it was scrumptious. The berries were just a bit tart
so the ice cream did not make it too sweet, it was perfect.
Lunch was a bit pricey at $30 but
for this area the prices are reasonable and we would recommend it to others.
