We had mentioned to one another several times as we passed through the Primm Valley area that one day we would return and actually spend the night. They do not have a RV Park, but boondocking is allowed in several different areas. Because the weather was going to be freezing at night, we opted to stay in one of the three hotels.
Our choice was at Whiskey Pete’s in a Jacuzzi Suite. Our suite, as the entire hotel and casino is in need of some repairs and TLC, but we made the best of a not so great situation, as we tend to do so well and the view was spectacular!
There were minor malfunctions with the room, no coffee pot, shower not working correctly, toilet about to fall off and plugged, Jacuzzi not working properly, constantly shutting off. We were also informed it was a non-smoking room, but there were ashtrays in the room and both neighbors were heavy smokers which made it very hard for me to sleep. Smoke in the casinos is rough on my allergies, but usually clear up once we leave the casino and we get some fresh air. But not these two days, we were inundated with it and it made for an uncomfortable time, so uncomfortable that we shortened our stay and only stayed two nights.
Whiskey Pete’s, Primm Resort, and Buffalo Bills are all part of the Terrible’s family of casinos, each one is very small with not too many slots to play so we chose to amuse ourselves with other activities. We ate, we Jacuzzi’d, and we shopped at the outlet mall, and we enjoyed our time off of working.
We headed over to Laughlin, Nevada a day early and are staying at the Avi KOA RV Park. We have stayed here several times in the past few years on New Year’s Eve since they do not raise their prices outrageously during the holidays and even though it is usually packed it doesn’t seem to have a lot of activities which cause for a loud night.
Our plan as usual is to celebrate with just the two of us in our home, but there may not be too much celebrating since Jerry caught some sort of bug and has kept us both awake most of last night due to it coming out both ends. He’s feeling better today, but not at 100%, but hopefully he will back to being himself soon and we can taste some of the different types of wine we purchased while we were traveling.

Boondocking in the cold, using a small heater has got to be better than a nasty old motel.
