The End of Our Season is Coming Soon

Wow, it has flown by, just a few more weeks and we will be heading south for the winter. Our plan is to hangout in Mesa, Arizona working at CalAm in the catering area again. Only difference is instead of working in catering, we will be in the Café. Same building, same boss but a significant difference in our duties. We are truly looking forward to this change and plan to have a successful winter season.

We enjoyed our first time in the hot tub and pool this entire season. Life is pretty darn great!

We decided to take our final trip on our extra days off and unfortunately our drives were so smokey that it was not very enjoyable. Our first day we went to Great Falls and stayed at a Best Western that did not inform us that their pool area was under construction. We asked several times prior to our arrival, and nobody said anything about it, even though we specifically asked to be notified if there was an issue with their pool and hot tub. It was the only reason we chose that location.

Our 2nd day plans were adjusted due to the smoke and haze. We drove through the East Glacier Entrance but took Highway 2 instead of the Sun Road. It was a decent drive but again the smoke and haze were extremely high.

We stopped at the Waters Edge Winery & Bistro in Kalispell for some wine tastings and a charcuterie board. We had 2 flights of the sweet wines they offered. A few of them sounded close to the wines we experienced in South Dakota, but they were much lighter and not as bold tasting as we had hoped. We purchased 2 bottles that we will review once we open the bottles which will probably not happen for a few months.

Our stay at a Best Western in Kalispell was exceptional, we were totally pruned up by all the time we spent in the fantastic hot tub and pool, and we had the area all to ourselves, it was perfect.

We finally tried the Stageline Pizza and we weren’t really impressed!

Prior to us leaving for our final trip, we all had to pick a partner out of a hat and not your spouse for the Golf Tournament. Due to scheduling, we did not have to play with our partners, we just had to play the 18-hole course, and our scores get added together and winners announced at our work party that was scheduled for the night of our return. Jerry and I played together, and he scored a 48 and I scored a 40, we had a blast! Jerry and his partner’s score of 37 took 1st Place, I got 3rd Place with my partners 55 score. The work party was a success, food was excellent, and conversations were flowing nicely, especially when our manager suggested we go around the table and each of us share our high and low for the season.

It’s been a great season, but way too long for us, we are ready to begin our travels once again.
