Spearfish Canyon Drive

Since we are running out of places to go, we have been asking the locals and were told this was a gorgeous drive. We were not impressed, but it was a nice drive until we realized a terrible storm came through and there was an entire area with trees broken and down. There were a few crews that were picking up all the debris, including chipping up loads of trees that were all mangled and cracked.

We went through Lead to get to the scenic drive and it was interesting, a very small town with a wonderful Sanford Lab Visitor Center where we stopped. The mining area was amazing and very interesting.

We stayed at Hampton Inn & Suites in Rapid City this week and it was a good experience. The bed was so comfortable, the room was big and the shower was exceptional. Customer service was mediocre because they were not trained properly and were not able to give us correct information about the hotel, but they were trying.
